VINE reports information provided by participating custodians. For James City County, that source is VPRJ rather than a county-run jail. The Williamsburg-James City County Sheriff directs local arrestee inquiries to the regional facility, which also holds people from Williamsburg, York County, and Poquoson. Confirm the facility and public identifiers before choosing a record.
The service answers a narrow custody question. It may show a category, location, identifying details, and notification choices. It does not decide the case, explain why a judge acted, or certify the complete jail release file. A reported out-of-custody status is useful evidence, but the VPRJ release record remains the source for exact time and disposition.
